Meat & Poultry
Metabolance offers you a choice of small-scale organic, local meats & poultry as well as 100% grass-fed "Natuurpunt" beef.
- The 100% grass-fed (or better: 100% self-grazing) meat comes from Natuurpunt (an organisation working to preserve natural reserves with the help of "big grazers", such as their Galloway cows). This meat is frozen and therefore always available.
- The certified organic meat comes from small-scale organic farmers from Belgium. It comes fresh, vacuum-packed in small conditionings (250g - 1kg). This meat has to be pre-ordered before Monday 10:00 for pick-up on Fridays 15-19h.
- The organic chickens either come from farmer Julien Gilson (if he has them - this is a small-scale production and as such not available all year round) or from Biovo. The chickens are free to roam and forage outside, and get a supplement of organic grains. Just like the fresh meat, they also have to be pre-ordered.
- The smoked lard and ham come from Coprobio, a cooperative of small, local, organic producers.
